Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding has many benefits to your infant.  We want to encourage you to consider breastfeeding your new baby.  Some women are not comfortable with the idea of breastfeeding, we understand but we want you to make an informed choice.  Breastfeeding is the best way to nourish your child. Your milk is exceptionally matched to your baby’s nutritional needs and phase of life.

Babies who are breastfed have fewer illnesses and are less likely to suffer from allergies.  They also are less likely to develop diabetes, and are less likely to have SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).  Breastfed babies score higher on measures of social and cognitive development and score higher on IQ tests as well as.

A recent study suggested it is a myth that bottle fed babies sleep better.  Most moms can form a mother-baby breastfeeding bond and breastfeeding releases beneficial hormones into the mother’s bloodstream.
